Graphic pics from the horrific accident along Lagos-Ibadan Express way

A horrific accident occurred this afternoon along the Lagos-Ibadan Express road. A trailer crashed into an 18-sitter bus carrying passengers. Witnesses said there were no survivors. Quite sad! See the pics after the cut but please be warned...they are very graphic...

    2. Just look at the way innocent citizens are dying. When will d govt do something??? They shld stop these trailers from traveling during d day or better still make a different lane for them! Someone shld tell Mr president

    4. FRSC and VIO failed offices. It's not by broken tail lights that you stop cars, cars MUST be assessed properly before they are allowed onto the road. Companies whose vehicles are involved in these accidents should be made to face the law. Proper investigations need to be carried out on all these needless accidents. If it was human error, the driver must face the music, if mechanical error like failed brakes, the company must pay through their noses so they know the gravity of such.We know many of the roads are bad but a few mitigative steps would gona long way. People must pay! We keep dying on these roads but small measures can ensure people don't fuck up. A lot more needs to be done and Baba I hope someone close to youis reading this. Our lives matter on our roads!!

  47. LINDA, I BEG UNA, HOW LONG WILL PEOPLE KEEP ON DYING ON OUR EXPRESSWAYS?

HOW LONG WILL BLOGS AND MEDIA HAVE TO POST SUCH DISASTER STORIES?

HOW LONG WILL COMMENTS BE 'EH YAAA' AND THE THAT WILL BE END OF STORY.

LINDA, DO A POST THAT IS DIRECTED AT OUR GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC AUTHORITIES ABOUT ACCIDENT PREVENTION AND SAFETY. IT IS HIGH TIME. WE THANK GOD FOR BUHARI. GOD BLESS HIS SOUL FOREVER AND EVER. BUT OTHER AGENCIES NEED TO FOLLOW HIS PATH OF CHANGE

    (1) FIX OUR ROADS AT ALL COSTS BY EXPANDING THEM, AND PROPERLY PAVING THEM

    (2) ENSURE DRIVERS OF ALL - I REPEAT!- ALL TYPES OF VEHICLES PARTICULARLY PUBLIC VEHICLES/TRANSPORT ARE TRULY LICENSED TO DRIVE HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES.

(3)PLACE SAFETY OFFICES AND ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY AGENCIES ON THE EXPRESSWAYS ON DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ALONG THE EXPRESSWAY OPERATING AT LEAST FROM 5 AM TILL 1AM. AND THEY SHOULD BE WELL EQUIPPED WITH RED CROSS, AND EVEN MEDICAL PEOPLE ON GROUND ALWAYS. VEHICLES LIKE AMBULANCE SHOULD BE THERE WORKING PERFECTLY.

    (4) PLS REMEMBER THESE ARE HUMAN LIVES. THINGS JUST CANT CONTINUE LIKE THIS IN THIS COUNTRY

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lawless country... How can we be transporting human beings in such vehicles... No Govt...

    ReplyDelete
  49. This type of calamity can only be avoided by Govt. investing in Railway to reduce trailer/tankers, strengthening Traffic laws on road-worthiness, drink - driving, speed-limits and compulsory rest (after 5 hours ) for all trailer drivers. So obtains in developed climes.

  50. Na wah, so sad to read this as it could have been anyone, that is why it is said that every second you see, thank the Lord. Oh God, bread winners would have been among. Every enemies of our lives will know no peace IJN. My advise is for anyone to be qualified to drive a truck in lagos should not be less than 45yrs cause na small small children way no mature in mind dey drive am now, secondly even if they must be illiterate they must be able to read and identify road signs and road laws, thirdly road safety should stop and text them for alcohol and truck fitness, fourtly ensure all of them are qualified for driving most of them only take courage to put the trucks on road without learning and finally put a law on the limit of their speeds and maybe to include that they should only be out between the hours of 9pm to 5am every day - all these should be applicable to comutters as well except for the restriction on time.
God will help us and save us from being victims of any evil going round in Jesus mighty name. Amen

A piece of advice to the FRSC officer; he should use a pair of gloves when carrying out this kind of duty.

    ReplyDelete
  55. This is heartbreaking! May their souls rest in peace....

  56. GOD please console their families, friends, love ones and their children, and continue to save we that remain on this world, the world that full of evils. Help us as well O`LORD to see you before we see death o because we are all guilty of death.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I seriously think tankers and trailers should operate only at night or better still govt should create a different route for them entirely cos they are the major cause of accidents on the high way, "always claiming to be king of the road".

    ReplyDelete
  58. I still insist that Trailers should be banned from plying through at night. so many have lost their lives through their callousness and wickedness. May the souls of the deceased rest in perfect peace.
